Rishab Shetty's Kantara has become the sixth Kannada film to cross the ₹100 crore mark worldwide.

The film is following in the footsteps of KGF 2, Vikrant Rona and others to register a healthy collection at the box office, owing to rave critics' reviews

The highest on the list is still Yash's KGF 2 with the worldwide gross of ₹1207 crore. Its predecessor, KGF 1 took the second place with ₹250 crore collection.

Kiccha Sudeep's Vikrant Rona is at ₹159 crore, followed by James ( ₹151 crore) and 777 Charlie ( ₹105 crore).

Kantara is an action-thriller that celebrates the traditional culture of Kambla and Bhootha Kola. It features Rishab in the lead role.

Many have described this as the finest film of his career. Kantara's cast includes Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, and Naveen D Padil among others.

It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the banner behind the KGF franchise.

Kantara, which translates to mystical forest, tells the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe's people with a king in 1870 in exchange for happiness.

Many years later, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the land back, he dies due to the wrath of Bhoota.
